The Antoine Dodson “phenomenon” is confusing. Or maybe it’s quite understandable. There’s obviously good money in doing a lot of nothing and letting white people play you for a fool.
Maybe Dodson picked up on that and is running with it (rather soul-less though). Maybe he doesn’t think about it. Either way, there’s another problem with Dodson’s “stardom”: someone tried to rape his sister and no one seems to be talking about that. Was the intruder arrested? Are police even still on the case? How traumatizing was it for her? Is she getting counseling? How can it make sense that an attempted rape would propel your brother into a low-grade “celebrity” rather than bring to the forefront issues of sexual abuse against women?
