Now Hiring: Professional Poets! #HappyPoetryMonth

Today’s exercise was created by Ann Lauterbach and is called Free-Lance Muse. This one was difficult because there are so many things that come to mind when thinking of the “ideal” poet. Of course, there is also the notion that is no such thing as an ideal poet. I almost felt like, if I added certain requirements, I would get the exercise wrong. Still, here’s the exercise and my job description for a poet.

Instructions: Imagine you are a free-lance muse, looking for work. IN recent years you have had to supplement your life with various odd jobs. You’re tired and sad and want a real poet. Write a job description for the poet you want to inspire.
